Following is a list of recommended materials for Kathryn Darling's watercolor class:
Watercolor paper - I will supply the paper needed for the workshop.
Plastic water container - I use a 5-quart ice cream container with a lid and cut a hole for paint brush access in the top. The larger the container the less you have to change your water.
#2 pencils with eraser
Paper towels
Sponge - I will supply these which can be purchased afterward.
Tubes of watercolor paint: Cadmium yellow, Yellow Ochre Cadmium red, Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Grey, Hookers Green, Alizarin Crimson (and any of your favorites)
Masking Tape
White Gauche tube
Palette for mixing colors
Masking fluid
Cardboard & stapler (for attaching w/c paper)
Soap to clean brushes
Nib to apply masking fluid
Brushes: Size
0 round
1 or 2 round
6 round
2 rigger
1/2 flat bristle
Large brush for color washes
Optional:
Tracing paper, palette knife, salt, spray bottle (pump not trigger), toothbrush, ex-acto knife, Watercolor lifting preparation, a small hair dryer, and any tips you may have to share.
